reflecting on gender roles and stereotypes
Stereotypes and gender roles are still very present and determined in today's society. Although these are not as they were 50 or 60 years ago, systematic violence is still present. Perhaps not in a direct way as it was in the time of our grandparents or even our parents, because back then there were no rights as we know them until now, but it continues to indirectly affect women and men in a society that seeks to make A more equitable, egalitarian and above all free.
People constantly assume the gender and orientation of other people when this should not be the case. No one should take it for granted that a woman identifies with her biological sex, or because you are a man, you are automatically heterosexual, and therefore a host of prejudices related to our gender. To this is added a retrograde society that does not conform to what is the present. They believe that when they see a person they know their history, tastes and projects when they are not.
In present-day Chile, there are many single mothers who must raise their children alone, where they must fulfill the role of mother, father and head of the family. Most young women do not believe that their only role in society is to be a mother. They have aspirations and know they are capable of more. Young people are more tolerant and understand that love is love and that all they have to do is respect and that is the basis of everything.

ResponderEliminarYou're right.
It is time for society to put all those prejudices aside, and in this way each person can follow their tastes without fear of being discriminated against or something like that. In short, everyone can live on equal terms.
It is time to stop questioning the lives of other people and live ours.
